Stuck in 4wd
2007 avalanche believed to be stuck in 4wd. when rotary dial is set to 2wd indicator goes to 2wd,but feels like it is in 4wd. when set to auto, indicator moves to 4wd, when set to 4wd, indicator goes to 4wd, what could be wrong?

i have same problem but after starting the engine i get first message on display "traction control""stabilitie control".After driving a few milles en stop the engine a can set it back too auto
