Toyota Camry Headlights Problem

My girl friends son has the car listed above and is away at college. He has been having issues with one of his headlights. it doesn't always come on and it you hit it it will work. We have replaced the bulb but the issue still occurs. would you suggest replacing the wiring harness?

Instead of hitting it to come on, the goal is to work on it carefully to keep it acting up so there is something to diagnose. Press on the socket and wiggle the wires to see what affects it. If this affects only the low beam or only the high beam, suspect a bad contact in the socket.
