2006 Nissan Titan Repair Question

I have a 2006 nissan v8 5.6 liter titan it is makin a winding noise and i have added matic j transmission fluid the winding noise went down my question is should i add more fluid or am i to late and the damage is already done?
I already added a qt of matic j transmission fluid should i add more?

Have you checked the fluid level yet? Never add fluid of any sort without verifying the level first. Damage can result from too much fluid.
