Mazda Tribute Compression Problem

Hi / got in my car was very cold / car , engine was cranking but didn,t start ,so got it towed , mecanic told me me it,s flooded drain the oil replaced the plugs . still didnt start.. took compression 1/2/3 has no compression and 4 has 150psi , he tells me timing chain jumped .. how could that be , now he,s trying to sell me an engine . what could it be

Recheck the compression.
Squirt some engine oil into the cylinders via the spark plug holes and unplug the fuel pump relay.
Crank the engine for a few seconds without the spark plugs and and recheck the compression. Floodng of cylinders can result in no compression.
Test for sparks.
