KIA SEDONA ENGINE PROBLEM
2006 Kia Sedona • 75,000 miles
My wife had a check engine light come on with a P2187 code. At the time I began to check the vacuum tubes I opened up the hood and found that there was an oil leak. The oil leak has not put oil on the ground, instead it seams to have pooled in some crevasses on the top of the transmission. The oil appears to be coming from the engine somewhere by the oil filter, but is not from the O-ring on top of the oil filter chamber. I am not sure how the oil filter chamber attaches to the engine block, but could there be an oil leak from that or is there an area on the driver's side of the engine where a seal or gasket could have broken? I am just looking for some likely suspects. I am hoping that it is not going to be a major repair, just trying to have an idea prior to taking it to the mechanic.
