I'm just wondering if you need to drop the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump in a 2006 captiva? Or can it be done via moving the backseat and accessing it through there?
Any advice much appreciated. Our car did the fuel tank 7 hours from home and we are relying on the local mechanic here, who's opinion greatly differs from our mechanic at home's opinion.

Hello,

Yes this car is similar to a Chevy Equinox. You will need to drop the tank. Here are some diagrams and a guide that will give you an idea on what you are in for when changed the fuel pump.
