I have 2006 gmc envoy. Recently my "check engine light" went on and I've noticed my gas tank reads empty. Also when I try to put gas in it will only allow me to put 2-3 gallons in before it shoots back out(like it's full). Just wondering if anyone would have an idea on what's wrong?

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on

Yeah I did that. They said I needed a new canister vent solenoid. I agreed to have them fix it and well guess what? Didn't do anything. Now I'm out $200!

Have the Evap emission control system checked out thoroughly from the charcoal canister all the way to the fuel tank that is vacuum solenoids/vent valves/seperators/clogged hoses that will cause excessive pressure in the fuel tank
