Ford Taurus Heater Problem
Start car need to keep foot on gas to keep running will not idle check engine light on replaced heater motor last week it smelt like it was burning worsewhen turned on fan

As far as the idle issue, check for vacuum leaks and check the idle air control valve. (IAC). Is the smell coming from the heater? You said you replaced the motor, was the old one burned up?
