2006 Ford Taurus Repair Question

I have a 2006 Ford Taurus it starts but it will not come out of park?I put the brakes on to take it out of park but will not come out. Could it be the brake fuse or something like that??Help??

there are 2 fuses under the left side of dash in the smart junction box. there is also a switch /module at bottom of steering column that releases the cable. there may be a button to manually release it until the next time you put it in park. if it's a floor shift it wil be by the shifter, it may have a removable plastic plug which you stick a screwdriver in it and it will comeout of park. You just need to push down on it.
