2006 Ford Escape Repair Question

Ford Escape won't come out of park

When I start the car and step on brake pedal and try to shift from park the shift lever will not move from park I have to depress the manual release to shift it.

check your brake lights, are they coming on when you press the pedal?

Try the shift interlock control solenoid

I did check and found a bad solenoid as you recommended,replaced it and it seems to be working fine. thanks so much.
