CHEVROLET SILVERADO DEALER PROBLEM
2006 Chevrolet Silverado • 100,000 miles
Got a 06 silverado 4.3 5 spd basic work truck. Was having little bit of a rough idle but not horrible and would sometimes stutter while driving on HWY. Was driving on expressway about 70 and then it died and would not restart. I had it towed home. I'm fairly mechanically inclined. Im actually a certified motorcycle tech and have always done all my own work from small to major. Once I got it home I seen I wasn't getting spark. I also think it wasn't getting fuel pulse but can't remember ( I have terrible memory) Couldn't figure out why it wasn't getting spark so I took it to the local dealer for diagnostic work. Well here is the list of parts I have put on it since the dealer thought I had endless amout of money to throw at it. I put crank and camshaft sensors, distributor cap and rotor, coil, dealer tried new ignition module but took it off, clutch switch, steering column with harness and igniton, new battery. So needless to say I don't trust dealers and they were just throwing parts at it hoping they got lucky. What am I missing? Dealer swore up and down the PCM and other compters were good. I'm open to all suggestions. I'm tired of throwing parts at it and need my truck. I've never been stumped so bad. Please help.
