What happens when u touch the two battery cables together?

Battery hooked up or not? What are you trying to accomplish. Disconnecting the battery is not a good idea on newer cars. GM and a few other manufacturers have purposely built in tricks to cause computers to lock up requiring a tow to the dealership.
