My 2006 BMW 330xi's idle seems to 'skip' (or get weak) while waiting/stopped at a stop light (doesn't cut off.) It only happens intermittenly....moreso once the car has been driven for a couple hours in the same day. It never happens first thing in the mo
My 2006 BMW 330xi's idle seems to 'skip' (or get weak) while waiting/stopped at a stop light (doesn't cut off.) It only happens intermittenly....moreso once the car has been driven for a couple hours in the same day. It never happens first thing in the morning, but mor frequent at night. No indicators on the dash, so BMW can never 'find' the issue. (approx. 60,000 mi) The car drives fine at high speeds, no concern there. What could be the problem?

Have them check for vacuum leaks and scan for both hard and soft codes. Also, see if you can have live data polled and printed.

thanks for your response can you please elaborate on what you mean by 'scanning for both hard & soft codes'? usually they just say nothing is coming up on the computer.

Hard codes cause the CEL to come one or flash. Soft codes don't.
