Attempted to open the soft top, it stopped at about 4 inches open from the windshield header. Closed it back up and took to shop. Shop ran a scan test, pinpoint test for top and found falts for micro switches in header latch assembly. Reset and retested. It failed self test. Shop stated it needed a new header latch assembly and control module to the tune of $2500. We decided car is not worth repairing. But no one can figure out how to silence the constant audible alarm and stop the constant instrument panel alert " soft top not secure ". The audible starts every the car is in motion and the instrument panel alert keeps flashing and cancels out other info from the dash. We are asking if anyone knows how to stop these alerts. Also because the vehicle thinks the top is not secure, the doors will not lock and the truck will not open unless by the use of a special plastic style key.

There are several technical service bulletins released by audi about the tops on these cars. If it were me id go to an audi dealer at least for a second opinion. Theyd be best able to help you. It might not be as bad as you think
