Location: under rear passenger side

Noise type: similar to the sound created when driving over rumble strips

Circumstances when it occurs: the noise is not exclusive to the following situation but it occurs almost regularly in the following situation. 1800-1900 rpms and 64-66 mph (the car has to be in both ranges at the same time). I've heard the noise while accelerating and while in cruise control in the previously mentioned ranges.

Troubleshooting: I've checked the tires and there doesn't appear to be any damage from something rubbing against it. Nothing under the car appears to be loose.

Other possible helpful information: I've had my brake rotors and pads replaced recently. The noise occurred before and after that. I recently put on a curt trailer hitch.

Thank you for your help.

If you're sure its a noise from outside the vehicle I would probably suggest that your torque converter is causing the rumble. If the noise is coming from inside the vehicle I would suggest it's the air mix control motor. They start to make a scratching noise as most customers describe it. Is your noise coming from inside or outside?
