i just bought a s40 18i sport and when i drive it the dstc keeps coming on and slows me down to about 30mph but when i turn it off it goes fine and i dont really know much about the dstc system so would be very thankful if someone could give me some advice on the matter.thank you

This deals with the traction control system. If the vehicle feels it is loosing traction, it will limit the amount of power the engine can produce. Thus, the car slows down. It sounds like you have a sensor problem. You need to have the computer scanned to identify where the problem is coming from.

How is the wheel alignment? If the steering wheel is not centered then that will cause the DSTC to slow you down? So have suspension check for damage and check alignment. Good luck and keep us posted please.
