Does someone use a scan tool

my vw golf broken yesterday.i don't want to goto the VW4S shop.i 'd like fix it by myself. so i want to get some suitable tools for my car diagnostic is good but,i don't know much.any one has heard about it or used it? Any information will be gratefully received.

Agreed VAS 5460 is the best. Im certified VW/Audi tech....whats your cars symtoms...assumed its a 2.slow!
