Decrease engine lite and decrease in pwr

Let car warm up for 10 min, put in gear to leave and the car had no pwr, looked at dash and decrease engine pwr lite is on. Shut down engine and waited 10 sec, restarted and still lite is on. Shut down engine and waited 5 minutes, restarted and lite was out. What could be the problem?

The first thing I need you too do is have the computer scanned for code's. Try a auto part's store for that. Let me know what the exact code's number's are and we can go from there.
