Renult laguna 1.9tdi giving a lot of white smoke and now has no power it starts and runs still with a lot of white smoke but uses a lot of oil but no power at all

Are you using coolant? I think that you better go get the car checked for a head gasket problem.

Possible head gasket issue or cracked head even. Did this vehicle overheat?

Also with diesels, if you have a low compression this will cause excessive white smoke, check valve clearances as well.
