I have a 2005 nissan sentra and if it is cold out and it has been sitting for awhile I have to let it warm up for about 5 min before it will shift gears, over drive will go off, and the back defrost will turn on

does it shift gear s manually instead of drive?

the button locks up so you can't pull the shifter to switch from park to drive or reverse

check shift lock solenoid for bein stuck/gummed up.

Would that be connected to the overdrive and back defrost?
