Gas knock

I have a 2005 mini cooper s convertible (R52). It threw a service engine soon light. So hooked it up to a scanner and it threw a gas knock code. Being a standard I don't see it being carbon build up. But I dont know for sure.I use 93 gas it calls for 91. Maybe it needs a new sensor. I haven't felt any loss in power or even heard any knocking. Just wondering your opinion? Thanks
