I am replacing my engine and as I was putting the engine back the torque converter was falling out. Is it fine to push it back in on the gears?

It must be aligned with the pump drive and the splines, best way to fit is to support with one hand and spin the converter slowly until it drops into place, have the nose of the transmission up a bit so gravity helps as well.
