When the problem is ongoing, if it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the spark plugs. If you have spark everywhere, check fuel pressure.

With intermittent issues, you need to test when problem is ongoing. How long since a tune-up?

Can you visually check for spark when the problem is ongoing?

I understand the problem just recently started. I'd still have to check spark and fuel pressure when the problem is ongoing.

A hard, hot restart could be caused by the vehicle trying to flood? Check fuel pressure, not only check for correct pressure, see if pressure holds for a bit with key off.
