Fuel Problem

Hi, I have a 2005 Ford Freestar Limited 4.2 L while driving it sputtered as if it had water in the fuel then check engine light came on and trouble code says "Fuel rail pressure sensor high input" light is still on and car will sputter every now and then while driving or starting from a stop. Never stalls just stutters then goes. No problems before this and car is maintained. Should i replace the sensor or have fuel system checked? Thanks

have the fuel pressure checked before throwing any parts at it.

also, the sputtering sounds like plugs, wires or possible coil. have these all verified before replacing anything

Thanks ASEMaster6371 Plugs and wires where replaced about a month ago since then we have driven probably 1500 miles (vacation) the problem started about a week after we returned, When i say sputtering it is just like the fuel has air or water in it driving along pressing on gas then all of a sudden just falls on its face then takes off again like fuel shuts off then starts again all in about a second, don't feel like ignition ??

Will be taking it to Ford as they need to replace the Torque Converter (Recall) will see what they say. I know it's gonna hurt!! LOL
