Can't seem to figure out what's going on.

Hi, can't seem to figure out what's going on with my vehicle. It starts great, and runs fine for the most part. However when I have too much of an electrical load in use for a period of time (ie. Headlights on, cruise control on, fans on) I start to have problems. I am unable to use cruise control and my truck shifts down from 5th to 4th after having too much electrical in use for a period of time. Could it be something to do with a resistor?

Have the alternator checked for output. It could be low

Are you sure it's electrical that triggers this or could it just be coincidence? This sounds an awful lot like a restricted Catalytic converter.
