Hello,

My son's having a problem with his Magnum heater that I thought I"d ask about here.

It's a 2005 Magnum 2.7 and the engine comes up to temp fine, heater fan works but it doesn't blow warm/hot air into the passenger compartment unless he takes it on the freeway. It's been very cold here but the fact that it only blows warm air when he takes it on the freeway is a little confusing since the engine temp gauge shows it's up to temp.

Anyone familiar with this issue on this model or engine?

TIA

That's typical on any car of low coolant level. The water pump doesn't actually pump fluid under pressure. It just gently circulates it, but it can't push liquid past an air pocket. If low coolant is the cause, the heater will start to blow warm air simply by raising engine speed while the car is standing still.
