Chevrolet Silverado Gas Problem
I have a 2005 chevy silverado, i was driving the check eng. light turn on the temp gauge was going up all the way to 240 degrees i was only driving for 5 min. I check the truck it didnt seem hot. check the thermostat it works, water is running good but the temp gauge is now all the way to the right and not moving. the check eng light turns on then off i try to get the code it seems that the obd is not responding. how can i check the obd to fix it?

go to a parts store for the code.
you may have damaged the motor from overheating. have a leak down test done to confirm head gaskets are good
