What belt? Seatbelt? Fan belt? Serpentine belt? Timing belt?

Its the belt that goes to the tension pulley.

Sorry rivermikerat. I think you're going to have to go over there and look for yourself. The seat belt, serpentine belt, and timing belt all have tensioner pulleys.

No sarcasm intended, but if you can't name the belt, (which many drivers can't), even if we could figure out the cause and the fix, are you going to be able to perform the diagnosis or repair? You might be dollars ahead to enlist the help of a live mechanic who can see, feel, twist, and poke at the belt to get an idea of the problem.

True.

Dissister, can you upload a photo of the belt? From there we can tell you which one it is. And recommend a course of action.

Ok. That helps. Is it the right belt and under the proper tension? Are all of the pulleys properly aligned? Do all of the pulleys spin freely with the belt off? Are you missing the lower plastic skid plate an living or driving in an area with lots of loose dirt or rocks that can be kicked up?
