2005 Chevrolet Equinox Repair Question

Chevrolet Equinox Heater Problem
When you turn on the heater cold air comes out even after car is hot and the thremostat rises. Check engine light came on. Checked coolant and it was low. I added coolant but problem is still there. Thank you

Have the computer scanned for codes and let me know the exact code numbers not code descriptions. Also see If both heater hoses going into the heater core at the fire wall are getting too hot to hold when the engine is warmed up?
