2005 Chevy Equinox

I need help!! I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox that we were driving home and just lost power. I was able to get it restarted and drive a bit before it died again. It would crank over but would not start. After a few cranks the dashboard would go blank. After letting it sit, I could get it to start but would die anytime I gave it gas or let up on the peddle. The wrecker driver was able to drive the car off of the wrecker. I started the car again and could drive it, but I had to have my foot to the floor for it to go anywhere. I noticed that I have a yellow light on my dash now. Went out this morning and car started right up. So, I have no clue what is wrong with it.
