2005 Chevrolet Equinox Repair Question

I have an 05 equinox bought it in june 2011 , the sun roof worked as it was supposed to now it only opens to the vent position and does not open and makes no sound almost like its not getting any power
When I slide the switch back to open the sunroof it goes into vent mode, when I toggle the switch for the vent mode it still works and puts the sunroof in the vent position , could it be the switch or what?

It could be the switch loose connection bad motor or the sunroof could even be binding up.Without testing it one could only guess as to why its doing that.
