When I stop the engine and add gas the car doesn't want to start

It's the only time we have issues with the starting It's takes 3-4 minutes for it to keep the engine. It just wants to start but dies. I wondered if it was something to do with the gas cap coming off or the fuel system.

Pull the line off of the canister purge solenoid, and check for presence of fuel. The purge solenoid is on the passenger side of the upper intake. It has a braided line from the fuel tank, that has a quick connect at the solenoid.
