On my 2.4tdi 2004 (just bought) the Auto box seems slow to change down just as i approach the kickdown point esp 2500 revs 80mph gently accelerating on a m.way or 1500revs 40mph coasting in traffic but accelerating to slowly catch up the queue - it vibrates but its more of a sensation inside the cab not physical on auto lever or steering wheel if it was a manual box you would be saying change down sooner and give it some revs problem solved - thoughts
