Air conditioner

Why does my 2004 Passat 1.8L air conditioning stops blowing cold air when it is idle or I am stuck in traffic? It works great while I'm driving.

Could be air and moisture in the system forming into ice and blocking of the orifice tube-have it purged out and see what happens
