2004 Suzuki Vitara fuel prob

While driving along there was a knocking from the engine and it seemed to shake then it just stopped, when I tried to start it there was no go. I put my Diagnostic code machine on it, once it cleared it started but the same knocking and shaking started again the it would stop aft it seemed to have used the wee drop of fuel it had picked up. Any suggestion

I am concerned that the knock may be oil pressure related, can you get the engine oil pressure tested, even if it is only running for 10-20 sec that will be enough to see if the pump is working.
