2004 Saturn Ion ignition key won't turn

My ignition key does not alway start the car sometimes it takes 5 to 10 minutes of turning the key to get it to turn and start the car. I jiggle the stearing wheel and press break peddle to no avail. Help please the problem seems to be getting worse

So the ignition cylinder gets stuck in the lock position an you have to jiggle the key etc?If so is the key badly worn?You probably need a new ignition cylinder they had some issues with those cylinders.
