Charging system failure pops up and it idles up and down like it wants to die or take off fast. I have an 04 Grand Prix GT. What could be the problem

Hi there, a faulty idle system will cause the low idle and surge in idle speed, when the idle drops to low the alternator will top charging until the engine speed picks up again, get the idle system checked first.

You may want to check on the alternator having it tested, but it may be doing this because of the idle going up and down like that, are you still driving it? And is there a check engine light on?
