Car stalled the other day with the oil light coming on, oil was fine. What could be the problem. The car didn't start after that

Gave car gas, didn't work. Charged battery and added alittle gas again, it started. What could of caused it. I don't believe that the car needed gas.

If you have a bad oil sending unit that is telling the computer the oil pressure is low, it will shut the engine down. Pay attention to see if it dies when the light comes on. Please note, if you hear any knocking or ticking when the light is on, shut the engine down. That indicates the pressure is low and you may have a bad pump. Also, if the check engine light comes on, have the computer scanned. Most parts stores will do it for free and it may identify a trouble code that will point you to the problem.
