2004 Mini Cooper S Repair Question

Car takes too long to start
I have a MINI Cooper S 5/2004 with the original battery still on.
When I turn the key to start the engine it takes more time than normal. I keep the key turned and finally the car starts after 3-4 seconds.
This happens at random and I haven't identified any kind of pattern e.g. the engine is cold or hot etc.
I had the battery checked and the voltage seems to be ok around 13.5V
My Black and Decker charger showed me a possible alternator fault but the battery seems to be charged at all times
