have a 2004 santa fe, it has always run perfect up to two weeks ago. the check engine light came on and went off. since then the engine will shift normally up to about third or fourth gear at which point the rpms drop and the engine acts as if it shuts off. then it will surge up to high rpms but not shift. had mechanic look at it and he can't find anything wrong. any thoughts?
