2004 Honda Civic Repair Question

Honda Civic Bump Problem
Should a coil and knock sensor be covered by a dealer's warranty?
I recently purchased a used 2004 Honda Civic with 149000 miles. After eight days and 50 miles the head gasket blew with no warning or indication of engine temperature problems.
The dealer has a 90-day bumper to bumper warranty 100% labor/parts at cost, but refused to honor the 100% labor. Now he says that I also need to replace the coil and knock sensor or the car will stop running. Is it reasonable to expect that these repairs should be covered under a "bumper to bumper" warranty with no exclusions?
