WHENEVER I CHANGE GEARS IT MAKES A SCRAPING NOISE WHAT CAN IT BE?
2004 Honda Civic Hybrid • 278,000 miles
I put transmission oil in it but it still does the noise when I change gears.
Is this a manual transmisson?Does it grind into every gear?
It's an automatic and yes every gear except neutral
Thats really strange to only make a scraping noise when it shifts? So did it make the noise before changing the fluid? Also your sure its coming from the transmission?
I only put transmission oil because I thought maybe that was the problem and because it was low. No im not sure its the transmission can it be maybe the clutch fluid. Any suggestion what it can be?
If its a automatic there isnt any clutch fluid. If its coming from the transmission then its something inside the transmission.Thats why i asked are you sure its coming from the transmission?
No actually not sure just assumed so do you have an idea?
A noise is going to be difficult for me because i cant hear it test drive the car etc.One thing i have seen is bad broken mounts causing noises while shifting also things rubbing or pinched where they dont belong.
