gas overflowing

When I attempt to put gas it stops after 2 or 3 gallons and overflows. I wait a while and try again and after a couple of gallons it overflows again and gas spills everywhere. Could there be some sort of clog?

try a different gas station. if they all do it then most likely the vent tube in the fuel filler tube has collapsed causing backpressure to build up without being able to vent out
