Chugging in Wet Weather

My 2004 Ford Escape began chugging in some recent wet weather, and the engine light began blinking, not continually staying lit, it would BLINK.
I suspect something with cylinders misfiring, but I have very recently replaced all 6 plugs, and all the coil on plug connections look good.
Any ideas as to what is causing my chugging, (in wet weather only). The problem does not occur in dry weather, and the check engine light goes off when the weather is dry.

Update to above post.
Today, when weather dries up, my Escape runs beautifully! Crisp and smooth.
In older vehicles I have had, this problem of wet weather hesitation and misfiring was always solved by replacing the distributor cap and rotor.
What are the comparable components to a cap and rotor with my coil on plug system? There are the electrical connectors that attach to each coil, but where does the other end connect?
I have recently replaced all my plugs, and because it runs so well in dry weather, it doesn't seem there are any component failures, like plugs, wires, valves, etc.
Any expert advice is very much appreciated.
