DODGE RAM MECHANIC PROBLEM
2004 Dodge Ram • 45,000 miles
I had a problem with the fuel pump. My mechanic changed it. The fuel gauge would not work when I filled it up. It would still read near empty when I just filled it up so the mechanic put a new one in it again. It still doesn't read full but I can live with that. After I shut the truck off and re-start it it reads fine. I say all of this to give you some back ground. I have only owned this truck for a couple of months. I bought it from a widow and she has never had my problem before. This is my problemevery time that I fill the truck to completely full, it sputters and stall's for the first 12 miles and after that everything runs normal again. I'm not a smart guy but people smarter then me designed this truck to be able to be full and run fine. Not after 12 miles it will run fine but when it is full to run fine! I have tried funning it full with the gas cap off to see if that helped but, no. My mechanic says just don't fill it. I don't like that answer. Side note, my mileage is all over. I get anywhere from 11-18mpg. I can't get three readings in a row to be the same. HELP
