I have had my car since Sept 2012 but the airbag light, on the bottom right side of my clock/where my fog light sign is too, has always been illuminated red. (Sorry im a typical woman when it comes to cars!) I have never had an issue with this but wondering what this means whether its on or off? As I now need to use a rear facing baby seat in my front seat is it at all possible to turn my passenger airbag off? Your help would be much appreciated I normally go to dad with car trouble but hes ill so id rather not trouble him :) thank you in advance Christina.

When the Air Bag warning light is on, it means the computer has detected a problem, set a diagnostic fault code, turned the system off, and turned the light on to tell you. The light should only turn on during the seven second system test when you first turn on the ignition switch, then it should stay off. Your system is turned off and is not going to deploy in a crash.
