2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser Repair Question

Thumping noise
2004 PT Cruiser, 60k. Thump, thump, thump noise left front when driving and gets more rapid with increased driving speed. Checked tire pressure. Ok. Tire tread is very good. Ideas?

I would suspect a tire issue, can you jack it up and spin the front tires looking for an out of round tire. You could have a broken belt in on of the tires,
