2004 Chevrolet Silverado Repair Question

It won't take drive but reverse is fine

What had happened it got hot then we let it cool off for a day then next time drove it again ran hot again got that stopped and then i went to drive it and nothing...when you put it in reverse it will take it just not drive. there is a plug underneath the heater core and it was full of water what is that plug? what do i need to do?

sounds like a trans issue that has failed front clutch.

the drain you see is for the ac drain when te evap sweats water.

its not a drain plug its electrical plug that is full of water what i am asking is what will make the transmission not take drive but it will take reverse
