Need opinion

Had my timing belt changed to avoid breakage (2004 chev optra ls) 5 weeks ago. yeasterday the crankshaft pulley came apart. Dealer said it was natural wear and tear, they didn't do anything wrong. 5 weeks ago seems funny, at the very least they should have known that the pulley wasn't fit to be put back on (if they hadn't damaged it), what do you think??????
