Car will quit running and the whole car will shut down like you turned the key off when you are slowing down like coming up to a stop sign

Get a can of spray Throttle body cleaner, start the car and spray around, pay attention to vacuum lines and manifold, if the idle changes, you found a leak. You want the engine running and spray on the outside but do direct the stream onto the hoses, if it is a vacuum leak, the engine idle will change speed, then you have detected a leak, repair the vacuum leak and see how it runs!
Keep the spray away from the exhuast manifolds.
The other possibilty is the idle air control, it, s bolted to the side of the throttle body.

Why does everything quit working. My wife was driving it last night and everything electrical quit too. She was driving down the highway arroun 55 mph and everything quit like you turned the key off. The brakes even quit too, she got it to go in neutral when it stopped and it started back but she had to hit the accelerator so it would start

Time to scan theis with either the GM Tech II or similar scanner that reads "B" and "U" codes. It's either that to eliminate the guess work, or start pulling connectors apart and putting them back togeter again. Scan will pinpoint the problem.
